Know how to Start your Interview - to calm your nerves

How do you Calm Your Nerves in an INTERVIEW?

Know your INTRO – Inside & Out

Practice it 5x more than any other part of your interview.

Why:

It gives you time to settle in

….as the nerves are usually the highest at the beginning

….and where your FIRST BIG IMPRESSION is made

Interview CALMING TIP for your INTRO:

Create a FRAMEWORK

…..for how you will speak to your experiences

……& what you bring to the job

… when they likely ask you to …

“Give me an overview of you and your experience”

Or

“Bring your resume to life”

Here’s a FRAMEWORK to consider:

1) Overview – Background of you:

2) Showcase Core Skills (relevant to the job) & mention company you picked them up at

3) What you are hoping to bring to the role or achieve

4) Why you are excited about the role:

5) About you personally: re your style at work.

Once you create your OWN framework

Write out the responses under each part

THEN……

Practice

Practice

Practice

Never worry about saying it the same way twice

….but, always stick to the flow of the framework.

…and DON’T memorize

You only must remember – your framework

The rest will flow out of you ……because of your practice

Hope that helps!
