Landing Your Ideal Job or Promotion

Position yourself for the best chance at landing the ideal job or the next promotion. (And most importantly in a job where you feel inspired.)

What is covered:

• Networking & “Career Chats” with purpose - Learn how to structure for impact and success.

• Impactful resumes – Learn how to write an impact profile & brag statements to highlight your accomplishments that drive value for a company.

• LinkedIn profile: - Write an impactful profile “headline”, “about” section and other critical elements of your LinkedIn profile to stand out.

• “STAR Link” interviews – Curate impactful proof points of your capabilities in a simple and proven ‘method’ (STAR = Situation/Task - Action -Result and Link to the company goals).

• Setting up for a promotion – Develop a ‘learning or development plan’ that proves role mastery and sets you up for further career growth and learn how best to position the conversation with the (right) people of influence.

• Negotiating offers – Helpful guidance on how to negotiate. Understand the strength of your ‘best alternative’.

At the end of these sessions you will have an impactful resume, be ready to answer interview questions with confidence or be clear on your best road to a promotion. We’ll select what is relevant to your situation.

Stepping into Leadership & Impactful Communication

Communicating and presenting yourself effectively is critical to people’s impression of you and how you position yourself as a leader & for advancement.

• The foundational ”Career Mapping & Brand You” plus other relevant needs from above and also from potential topics below.

• Difficult conversations – Learn how to structure them for best results with 10 simple steps. There’s lots of role play on this one!

• Meeting plans for “high stakes” interactions – Follow the simple format to set the meeting goals and desired outcomes, know what each participant will bring to the meeting, anticipate hard questions and develop responses to set up for success.

• Powerful presentations – Learn how to structure key messages that will resonate and how to present to keep your audience captivated.

• Communicating with clarity – Helpful guidance on the “must do’s” from simple emails (to drive action) to PowerPoint story building and use of headlines and the often over-looked art of keeping it simple and direct to ensure your message is not lost.

• Emotional Intelligence – What of the 5 core elements do you have and what do you need to improve? Emotional intelligence is a proven indicator of success.  

At the end of this session you will be prepared to address your audience with clarity, purposeful key messages and improved confidence. We’ll select what is relevant to your situation.

Throughout any session, I will work to help you recognize and reframe unhelpful or unsupportive thoughts or words that you bring up naturally in our discussions (no judgement — just support).

I will also share some ideas to consider when applicable to the discussion. One of my favourites…..
