Coaching wasn't really on my radar until my mom mentioned Carolyn Novick's name. My mom had worked with Carolyn at Coca Cola and had nothing but wonderful things to say. I figured if my mom was that enthusiastic, it was worth a conversation.

What I didn't expect was how much it would stick. Every session started with Carolyn asking how my week was going and she meant it. That warmth made the harder conversations easier and the deeply reflective ones feel safe.

I came to Carolyn ready to grow into a stronger people leader. She didn't hand me a playbook. She asked the right questions until what was already inside me had somewhere to land. One of the more tangible moments was a leadership presentation I put together for my executive team. It landed really well. Not because Carolyn wrote it. But she helped me lay the framework to filter and distill my thinking so I could put forth the right version of myself for the audience. Carolyn helped me get clear on my core strengths, my value/legacy and the message I wanted my audience to walk away with. That is what good coaching does. It unearths what you already have, polishes it up, and helps you shine.

I find our conversations super helpful and am continuously learning new things.  Even though the role-playing makes me a little nervous, I think it’s a great way to reinforce the learning and the practice beforehand increases my confidence.
